Sustainability at Charity: Water

  • SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being

Access to clean water is crucial for good health and well-being. By providing clean water, charity: water helps prevent waterborne diseases that can lead to illness and even death.

  • SDG 4 Quality Education

Access to clean water can also improve education. When children have to walk long distances to collect water, they miss out on valuable classroom time. By bringing water closer to schools, charity: water helps ensure that children receive a quality education.

  • SDG 5 Gender Equality

Women and girls are often tasked with collecting water, which can take up to six hours a day, preventing them from going to school, working, or engaging in other productive activities. By bringing water closer to communities, charity: water helps alleviate this burden and promotes gender equality.

  • SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation

Charity: water's primary goal is to provide clean and safe water to people who don't have access to it. The organization funds water projects in developing countries, such as wells, boreholes, and rainwater harvesting systems, to bring sustainable and safe water to communities.

  • SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals

Charity: water partners with local organizations, governments, and communities to provide clean water. These partnerships ensure that the water projects are sustainable and have a lasting impact on the communities they serve.
